more walking pix

a couple of weeks ago a cold storm passed through los angeles county. brought a lot of rain and snow. i took this pic walking to kaldi coffee via the hyperion bridge. i'm still reveling in being able to walk distances and am gob smacked by the stunning views in the neighborhood.

new neighbors

some time last year i saw a heron sitting in a eucalyptus tree at the silver lake reservoir. i stood, leaning on my bike observing it in the branches. this last weekend i was walking around the reservoir and saw this sign! i've seen a few herons that i took to be flying through the area. i had no idea they nest here!
i didn't see any herons while walking around the reservoir this day, but later as i was walking on rowena near the coffee table, one flew over headed toward the LA river.
